Key Responsibilities
- Plan and Coordinate Operations: Oversee daily operations ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of the home.
- Ensure Compliance: Adhere to legislation and regulations, including Care Inspectorate Wales and Health & Safety at Work Act.
- Implement Policies: Enforce home policies and procedures to maintain high care standards.
- Lead the Team: Provide leadership and direction to home personnel, ensuring clear communication of policies.
- Maintain Records: Ensure proper maintenance of all resident and other records as per policy and legislation.
- Handle Complaints: Investigate and address complaints, reporting to the Responsible Individual.
- Optimize Occupancy: Implement measures to maintain optimum occupancy.
- Communicate Effectively: Maintain good communication channels with residents’ relatives or next of kin.
- Assess Competence: Evaluate staff competence, supervise medicine management, and ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate Wales’ standards.
- Uphold Professional Practice: Adhere to the Social Care Wales Code of Professional Practice.
Essential Qualifications
- QCF Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (Adults Residential Management).
- Registration with Social Care Wales.
- Knowledge of RISCA: Understanding of the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016.
- Leadership Experience: At least three years of management experience in a similar setting.
- Understanding of Elderly Care: Demonstrated understanding of elderly care needs.
- Effective Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Passion for Care: Proven track record in elderly care and achieving positive outcomes.
- Positive Attitude: A flexible and positive attitude with a desire to make a difference.
Desirable Qualifications
- Adult Nursing Degree/Qualification.
- Teaching Qualification: Recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE/Cert ED, DTLLS/CTLLS, or Level 5 Education & Training.
- Experience in Nursing Home Sector: Five years of experience in the nursing home sector.
- Management Experience: Three years of management experience within the nursing home sector.
- Welsh Language: Understanding of Welsh is beneficial.

Working Hours and Requirements
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, with 40 hours per week and participation in an ‘on-call’ rota.
- Location: Haverfordwest. Reliable commute or relocation plans required.
- Experience: Minimum one year as a Registered Manager in a care home.
- Certification: NVQ/QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care Management.
- Driving Licence: A valid driving licence is required.
