About the Role
The Royal Brompton Hospital’s busy catering department is on the lookout for a dedicated Kitchen Porter. This role is crucial in maintaining the high standards of food hygiene and health and safety that the Trust, the Environmental Health Officer (EHO), and the Department of Health require.
The successful candidate will dive into a dynamic environment where they’ll play a vital role in the smooth operation of the kitchen. From assisting with food deliveries to ensuring impeccable cleanliness, this position offers a chance to be part of a team that directly impacts patient care through top-notch catering services.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with food deliveries, stock rotation, and recording delivery temperatures
- Clean main kitchen premises and equipment using correct color-coded equipment
- Report any signs of pests or equipment defects to the Head Chef or supervisors
- Work as part of a team to maintain high cleanliness standards
- Clear used crockery and clean tables
- Load and unload dishwashers
- Handle waste and recyclable materials correctly
- Maintain cleaning records and stock of cleaning materials
- Comply with all Trust policies, procedures, and practices
