Job Overview
Are you passionate about early years education and have a Level 3 Early Years Childcare qualification? We are looking for a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a child with cerebral palsy at St Gabriel’s Nursery, set within the beautiful grounds of our independent day school in Newbury. This role is crucial in helping the child reach their full potential, working within a supportive and nurturing environment.
About the Role
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will work closely with a wonderful child, engaging them in tailored play opportunities that encourage their progress across all areas of learning and development, as outlined in their EHCP. You will be part of an exceptional nursery team that values each child as an individual from their very first day. Our curriculum, based on the Early Years Foundation Stage, is enriched with specialist staff support from our Junior School, ensuring diverse and exciting learning opportunities both indoors and outdoors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Level 3 Early Years Childcare qualification recognized by the Early Years’ Service
- Experience supporting children with cerebral palsy (preferred)
- Professional discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Effective communication skills with parents, carers, and professionals
- Team player, reliable, punctual, patient, and caring
Working Hours
This part-time, fixed-term role is for two days per week (Monday and Friday) from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, term-time only. The position is linked to the attendance of the child, and we are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
