About the Role:
As a Housekeeping Assistant, the primary responsibility is maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across designated areas, following Infection Prevention and Control guidelines. The role involves cleaning corridors, offices, stairs, and patient areas in line with National Cleaning Standards. The assistant will handle and maintain cleaning equipment, ensure safe chemical handling, and adhere to safety protocols. Participation in training sessions, securing stock, and respecting patient privacy and dignity are also key aspects of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas under the manager’s supervision.
- Follow Infection Control procedures and National Cleaning Standards.
- Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals according to COSHH regulations.
- Properly use and maintain cleaning equipment.
- Support new starters through a buddying system.
- Report equipment breakdowns or hazards to the Line Manager.
- Adhere to manual handling and safety training procedures.
- Ensure patient privacy and dignity at all times.
