Requirements:
- Essential: Understanding the needs of dependent older people, enthusiasm for cooking, and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Desirable: City and Guilds or equivalent qualification, understanding of different cultural and ethnic catering traditions, Environmental Health Certificate in Food Hygiene.

About the Role:
The Kitchen Assistant at Amherst Court, Chatham, plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen team. Responsibilities include preparing vegetables and fruits, assisting in meal service, cleaning kitchen equipment and areas, ensuring stock rotation, and maintaining hygienic conditions. The assistant must comply with all health and safety regulations, attend necessary training sessions, and participate in menu planning to ensure meals meet residents’ nutritional needs. The role also involves working within the guidelines of various food safety acts.
