Requirements

• Professional qualification/registration (e.g., 1st level nurse, psychology doctorate, qualified social worker).
• Specialist post-registration qualification in Child & Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) or equivalent.
• Recognized teaching and training qualification.
• Registered mentor for nurse registration, or willingness to complete if appointed.
• Additional post-registration qualification in a specific therapeutic modality (desirable).

Salary Details

The salary is based on NHS AfC: Band 7, and is competitive, commensurate with experience. Exact figures will depend on experience and qualifications.

About the Role

The Primary Mental Health Worker Team Lead will manage and clinically supervise the clinicians in the Primary Mental Health Worker (PMHW) and Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) within schools. The role involves ensuring the quality and safety of service provision, supporting service leads in deploying future MHST roll-outs, and working on financial efficiency and resource management. The Team Lead will also maintain a clinical caseload, providing direct care and identifying service gaps to develop services that meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop provision at the interface of child and adolescent mental health services, schools, and other early help agencies.
• Increase awareness of the needs of this client group at the primary care level, sharing clinical knowledge through consultation, liaison, teaching, training, and research.
• Support schools and primary care colleagues in their work with children and young people, guiding them on making referrals to relevant mental health services and MHSTs.
• Contribute to the development of effective interfaces and clinical pathways with universal, targeted, and specialist services.
