Requirements
- Minimum of six months of recent NHS experience as a healthcare support worker
- Care Certificate in Acute Care
- Good communication and IT skills

Salary Details
The salary for this Band 3 position is competitive and will be based on the candidate’s experience. The role offers opportunities for overtime and additional pay for night and weekend shifts.
About the Role
The Senior Healthcare Support Worker will play a key role in providing direct patient-centered care. This includes supporting the Registered Nurses and Nursing Associates in various adult inpatient areas. Responsibilities include meeting patient hygiene, nutrition, and mobility needs, taking and recording vital signs, and providing one-to-one observation for high-risk patients. The role also involves training new and junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing direct patient care, including hygiene, continence, nutrition, and mobility support
- Taking and recording vital signs
- Escalating changes in patient conditions to the appropriate staff
- Providing one-to-one observation for vulnerable patients
- Undertaking training and competencies related to the role, including ECGs and venepuncture
- Maintaining a clean and well-stocked department
- Training and supporting junior staff
